Rhinoplasty: The Plastic Surgeon's Duties

Rhinoplasty, also called a nose job, is an invasive plastic surgery treatment to change and reshape the tip of your nose, making it more attractive. There are two different types of plastic surgeries used to reshape and repair the tip of your nose; reconstructive plastic surgery which work on reshaping and restoring the natural shape of your nose, and aesthetic plastic surgery, which change the shape of your nose by reshaping it.

Rhinoplasty is the most common plastic surgery treatment of all, as it involves very little downtime. As opposed to other cosmetic surgery procedures such as tummy tucks, facelifts, and nose jobs, rhinoplasty requires no recovery time. Most patients can return to work and other daily activities in a week or so, but you will need to avoid driving for several days after the operation.

Before deciding on rhinoplasty as your rhinoplasty orange countysurgeon, be sure to check out his or her credentials. While some cosmetic surgeons may have degrees in plastic surgery, this does not mean that they have the skill, training and experience necessary for performing rhinoplastics. Look into their past surgeries to find out if they have performed them before. During your consultation, the doctor will take x-rays of your nose in order to help with determining your rhinoplasty procedure. You will probably be asked to lie down on a table in order to have them view the inside of your nose, which may include a portion of your iris. and some of your surrounding tissues. You may also be asked to remove all of your hair to help the doctor see the exact location of your nasal bones.

After the surgery, the doctor will explain how he or she can take care of your post-operative recovery and advise you on any risks involved with the procedure. You may have to follow certain guidelines to avoid complications, and you may have to stay in bed for a few days.
